Elizabeth ROYCE 3 4
How heart-breaking for Elizabeth to lose her daughter in 1833 to horrific burns, then on the voyage to Australia to have her son William (age 12) die. The fear she must have endured wondering if she would lose her whole family to sickness and desperately searching for ways to keep them safe. Her baby, Richard (2yrs), died one month after Elizabeth so the father and two older girls - Sophia and Sarah - must have had to nurse him. Elizabeth married William ROLFE, son of Richard ROLFE and Sarah KNIGHT, on 13 Oct 1824 in Writtle, Essex, England.1 2 (William ROLFE was born on 3 Jun 1804 in Writtle, Essex, England 5, christened on 3 Jun 1804 in Writtle, Essex, England 2 6 and died in 1857 in Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia 3.)
