| William ROLFE
(1804-1857) |
William ROLFE 3
Conflicting family stories have him dying at Emu Plains (which would have been 1840-49) and at Swan Hill (abt 1857). As sole surviving parent of three children, what were his thoughts as he landed in Sydney? Thankfully, he had a job to go to, at Regentville, and the support of his brother and sister-in-law with his remaining 3 children. William married Elizabeth ROYCE, daughter of Jon ROYCE and Susannah DOWSETT, on 13 Oct 1824 in Writtle, Essex, England.1 2 (Elizabeth ROYCE was christened on 28 Feb 1802 in Terling, Essex, England 5 6 and was buried on 22 Jun 1838 at sea from the "Amelia Thompson" 5.) The cause of her death was Typhus.
