On 2 Apr 1871 she appeared on the census at 55 Porter Street, New Cross, Manchester, Lancs as a 3-year-old. 6

On 3 Apr 1881 Catherine appeared on the census at 55, Bridgewater Street, Salford, Lancs as a 15-year-old doubler in a cotton mill whose family name was shown as Grampton. 7

On 16 May 1883 her marriage certificate said that she was an eighteen-year-old spinster and that she lived at 55, Bridgewater Street, Salford, Lancs. Her father, William Grantham, was an iron moulder. 1

On 5 Apr 1891 she appeared on the census at 31 New Butler Street, Ancoats, Lancs as a 25-year-old rag sorter. 8

On 31 Mar 1901 Catherine appeared on the census at 9 Rodney Street, Manchester, Lancs as a 36-year-old. 9
