• On 5 Apr 1891 she appeared on the census at 2 Holly Cottages, Coleman Street, Prittlewell, Essex as a 13-year-old living with her half-brother Arthur Walsh and his family.

• On 5 Oct 1895 her marriage certificate said that she was a 28-year-old spinster and that she lived at 24 King John Street, Stepney, Middx..

• On 31 Mar 1901 Matilda appeared on the census at 104 North Road, Prittlewell, Essex as a 23-year-old married woman living with her young son at her brother's house while he husband was elsewhere.

Matilda married Henry GRIFFITHS, son of Richard GRIFFITHS and Unknown, on 5 Oct 1895 in St. Philip's Church, Stepney, Middx. (Henry GRIFFITHS was born about 1853.)
