• On 31 Mar 1901 Leslie appeared on the census at 34 Crookes, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 1-year-old who was staying with his grandfather. 4

• On 2 Apr 1911 he appeared on the census at 24, Lydgate Lane, Crookes, Yorks as an eleven-year-old scholar staying with his aunt Mary. 5

• On 2 Apr 1917 he was recruited. His home address was given as 24, Lydgate Lane, Crookes, Yorks and he was described as a clerk and his next of kin was his mother Polly Stead. 8

• On 19 Feb 1919 he was awarded a military pension due to a slight goitre and tachycardia which had been aggrivated by his military service. The amount was 5s 6d per week, to be reviewed in 52 weeks. 8

• On 24 Mar 1966 his estate was probated at the London registry to Constance Stead, his widow. Effects £4,810. At the time of his death he was living at 2 Wetherby Road, Knaresborough, Yorks. 6
