• On 2 Apr 1871 he appeared on the census at the Saddle Inn, 96, West Street, Sheffield, Yorks as an eleven-year-old. 2
• On 3 Apr 1881 Thomas appeared on the census at 186 Witham Road, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 21-year-old cabinet maker. 3
• On 31 Mar 1901 he appeared on the census at 102 St. Philips Road, Sheffield, Yorks as a 41-year-old unmarried cabinet maker. He was shown as Henry's uncle, not his brother, but this may be because one of Henry's children provided the information. 4
• On 2 Apr 1911 Thomas appeared on the census at The Hostel, Water Lane, Sheffield, Yorks as a 52-year-old joiner with a builder. 5
