The christening entry gives his father's name as Lot. This may be that Henry was Henry Lot; it may be that Lot's real father died and brother Henry took him on; it may be an error on the part of the curate who made the entry or it may be that this is a different Lot

• On 2 Apr 1911 he appeared on the census at Hollycombe, Wardley, Liphook, Hants as a 76-year-old widower, aretired gardener and old age pensioner who was a visitor in the home of Thomas Anker, garden labourer. 4
