• On 2 Apr 1871 Charles appeared on the census at High Street, Epsom, Surrey as a 37-year-old fishmonger. 2

• On 3 Apr 1881 he appeared on the census at High Street, Epsom, Surrey as a 47-year-old fishmonger. 7

• On 25 Dec 1884 his son Alfred's marriage certificate said he was a fishmonger. 8

• On 5 Apr 1891 Charles appeared on the census at 89 High Street, Epsom, Surrey as a 58-year-old fishmonger. 9
