On 7 Apr 1861 he appeared on the census at 23 High Street, Godalming, Surrey as a 28-year-old confectioner. 6

On 2 Apr 1871 Charles appeared on the census at High Street, Epsom, Surrey as a 37-year-old fishmonger. 2

On 3 Apr 1881 he appeared on the census at High Street, Epsom, Surrey as a 47-year-old fishmonger. 7

On 25 Dec 1884 his son Alfred's marriage certificate said he was a fishmonger. 8

On 5 Apr 1891 Charles appeared on the census at 89 High Street, Epsom, Surrey as a 58-year-old fishmonger. 9

On 31 Mar 1901 he appeared on the census at High Street, Epsom, Surrey as a 68-year-old fishmonger's shopkeeper. 10

His death was registered during the quarter ended Sep 1904 at the Epsom registration district, with GRO reference vol 2a, page 24. 3

On 7 Nov 1904 his estate was probated at the London registry to his widow Emma. Effects 63 3s 6d. At the time of his death he was living at High Street, Epsom, Surrey. 4
