Robert married Mary Ann BAINBRIDGE, daughter of Ralph BAINBRIDGE and Sarah BAGNALL, on 5 May 1856 at St. John's Parish Church, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland.¹ (Mary Ann BAINBRIDGE was born about 1832 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland ⁵.)
