On 5 Aug 1849 his marriage certificate said that he was a bachelor of full age, who worked as a builder and that he lived at Gove Lane, Camberwell, Surrey. His father, Mortimer Timpson, was a builder. 1

On 30 Mar 1851 he appeared on the census at 4 Bayham Place, Camden Town, Middx as a 23-year-old bricklayer. 6

On 7 Apr 1861 Edwin appeared on the census at 27 Archer Street, Camden Town, Middx as a 32-year-old bricklayer. 7 13

On 9 Jun 1861 his son Samuel's baptism certificate said he was a builder and he lived at 27 Archer Street, Camden Town, Middx. 14

On 5 Jan 1863 his son Charles William's birth certificate said he was a Master Bricklayer. 15

On 26 Aug 1866 his daughter Sarah's baptism certificate said he was a builder and he lived at 13 Wood Street, Princes Road, Lambeth, Surrey. 16
